This is a Culinary work experience at a well-known restaurant in the Queen Anne’s County. This experience involves working in the kitchen and learning the beginning skills of a chef in the culinary field. This Youth apprenticeship includes taking the beginning Chesapeake College Dual Enrollment Culinary class. Upon successfully completing all parts of this program, the student will earn a Culinary Youth Apprenticeship certification from Maryland Department of Labor, and will qualify to remain employed with Fisherman’s Inn, and advance in this business.

Machine Operator
Purpose: Operate NRL equipment in accordance with NRL’s training and safety requirements.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Operate a preset machine by loading and unloading parts, and starting and stopping the machine program
• Keep supervisor aware of any machine troubles in a timely manner
• Inspect own work, keeping supervisor aware of questionable parts in a timely manner
• Perform bench work operations (deburring, sanding, finishing, etc.) while machine is running
• Perform all duties in a safe and proper manner while maintaining a clean work environment
• Monitor machine and equipment to reduce the risk of damaged tools or bad parts.
• Monitoring the machine includes but is not limited to: checking coolant levels, unloading the chip hopper, and checking oil levels
• Monitor cycle time and verify or correct time listed on job traveler
