Celebrating Business Partnerships: Charmtree Jewelry Studio and Kent Island Beach House

As part of Small Business Week, Queen Anne’s County Economic & Tourism Development is celebrating the innovative partnerships our incredible business community has created! One of these partnerships is a collaboration between Charmtree Jewelry Studio and Kent Island Beach House, LLC.

Melissa Kay Steves is the owner of Charmtree Jewelry Studio, a thriving metalsmith school that opened in 2019. Melissa offers beginner metalsmith classes, and also brings guest instructors from all over the country to lead advanced classes. Recently, she hosted renowned jeweler Lesley Aine McKeown of Prescott, AZ for a 4-day master class that sold out in less than one week.

With the growing popularity of her classes, Melissa saw the increasing demand for affordable accommodations for those traveling to attend the workshops. She has teamed up with Donna Harrison, owner of Kent Island Beach House, LLC to offer retreat-style events.

They are currently working on their first retreat for guest instructors and advanced classes. In addition to advanced class retreats, they are also working on packages for those who would like to come to the island to take a beginner’s class with friends and family, learn to make a piece of jewelry, and stay in a beautiful waterfront home.

Melissa and Donna are also partnering with a local vineyard to provide wine to their guests when they check in, and are looking for a local caterer to provide charcuterie boards as well.

They look forward to continued success in their partnerships and bringing in folks from all over the country to experience their beloved Kent Island.
