Kent Narrows prepares for new businesses

Kent Narrows is preparing for several new businesses to launch in the travel destination in 2022.

On the Grasonville side of the Narrows, the waterway that separates Kent Island from the mainland of the Delmarva Peninsula and other parts of Queen Anne’s County, a new HYATT PLACE hotel is currently under construction and has an anticipated opening in late 2022 based on current construction progress. It will see an additional 120 rooms, meeting facilities, and additional transient slips added to the county. The project will also extend a boardwalk walkway through the property that will connect with the existing trails network in the area, including the Cross-Island Trail.

Located on the Chester side of the Narrows business is also expanding. The Boatel, a climate-controlled dry dock for powerboats, recently expanded and the site is adding a spa operator and a new restaurant “The Dock House”. The Dock House is a partnership with owners of Fisherman’s Inn / The Crab Deck and The Jetty.

Economic & Tourism Development along with representatives of the QAC Economic Development Commission, Kent Narrows Development Foundation, and Schulz Development toured the Hyatt Place, Boatel, and The Dock House properties on November the 19th.
