Tourism Program Awarded Mini-Grant Supporting New App

The Department of Economic & Tourism has been awarded a mini-Grant by the Eastern Shore Heritage Inc. (ESHI) in support of the development of a self-guided tour app. ESHI operates the Stories of the Chesapeake Heritage Area, a four-county effort to develop and promote heritage tourism.

The app will use existing tours that are only available in print format. Prospective tours include Historic Stevensville, Historic Centreville, Queen Anne’s County Sacred Sites.

The project will kick off in January 2022 and be completed no later than May of 2022 in time for the opening of historic sites and the influx of Spring travelers.

The project is being led by Marketing & Destination Development Specialist, Katie Clendaniel. Questions about the project can be directed to her at [email protected].
