#VisitQAC Photo Contest
 

The Queen Anne’s County Office of Tourism is hosting a photo contest that showcases reasons why people love living, working, and playing in Queen Anne’s County.

The contest begins December 12, 2018 and ends January 31, 2019. By Submitting an entry, each contestant agrees to the rules of the contest and states that material becomes the property of QAC.

The contest is open to any photographers who are 18 years or older. Contestants younger than 18, must have parental consent. How to enter: Please submit photographs and requested information through our website

The following categories are drawn from special interest to the Queen Anne’s County Department of Economic & Tourism Development. All photos must have been photographed within Queen Anne’s County, Maryland.

  • Nature/ Landscapes: Animals, plants and landscapes; geological or climatological features.
  • History & Heritage: Local Queen Anne’s County towns, historical sites, people, festivals, activities.
  • Sunsets
  • Holidays
  • Aerials
  • Living & Working on the Water
  • Live Like a Local ( People) Iconic Queen Anne’s County Experiences: capture the feeling of life and leisure in Queen Anne’s County (Individuals from all walks of life living and enjoying life)
  • Outdoor Recreation
  • Culinary Experiences – showcase the abundance of amazing seafood, agriculture and dining experiences in Queen Anne’s County

To be eligible for any category, a photograph must have been shot by the entrant since January 1, 2017 within Queen Anne’s County, Maryland.

Cropped Photos are eligible in all categories. Digitally enhanced or altered photos are not accepted. Minor adjustments including sharpening, contrast and slight color adjustments or digital equivalents are acceptable in all categories. Judges reserve the right to disqualify any photo that has deemed excessively altered.

For a photo in which a person is recognizable, you must secure a model release from the subject or in the case of a minor, the subject’s parent or guardian and provide it to Queen Anne’s County Office of Tourism upon request. Similarly, entrants whose photo depicts other people’s work (such as sculptures, painting and other copyrightable works) may need to obtain a release from the rights holder and provide it to Queen Anne’s County Office of Tourism upon request. Photos that have won other awards are not eligible (having won, grand prize, first, second or third place in other photo contests)

Photos that contain sexually explicit, nude, obscene, violent or other objectionable or inappropriate content as determined by Queen Anne’s County in its sole discretion are ineligible for all categories of this contest.

We do not accept photographs submitted through the mail. Submit no more than 5 photos per category. We do not accept more than one contestant per email address. Photos submitted are to be at least 1024 pixels wide, so they can be displayed without being stretched or distorted.

High quality scans of non-digital photos are acceptable. Digital photos should be submitted at the highest resolution possible. Use online entry form on website and complete a separate form for each photo submitted. Photos must be in a .jpeg or .jpg or .gif format. Files should be no larger than 10MB.

Queen Anne’s County may collect a photograph’s metadata upon entry.

You retain rights to your photograph, however, by entering the contest, you grant Queen Anne’s County Office of Tourism and Queen Anne’s County Government and its departments (and those authorized by Queen Anne’s County Government) a royalty-free, world-wide, perpetual, non-exclusive license to publicly display, reproduce and create derivative works of the entries, in whole or in part, in any media existing or later developed, for any Queen Anne’s County Office of Tourism or Queen Anne’s County Government purpose including but not limited to advertising and promotion, website, social media, printed materials, brochures, broadcast medias and other uses determined by Queen Anne’s County Office of Tourism and Queen Anne’s County Government. Queen Anne’s County Office of Tourism and Queen Anne’s County Government will not be required to pay any additional consideration or seek any additional approval in connection with such uses.
